Experiencial Tourism at the Bay Breeze Art Gallery

Good Morning Everyone! It's another beautiful day in Bathurst, New Brunswick and my news for the day is the possibility of hosting something new to the Bay Breeze Art Gallery called "Experiential Tourism" workshops.

Last week a very special seminar was held in Bathurst on this emerging and very successful concept. Denise Boudreau of Tourism and Parks and Donald Hammond of Enterprise Chaleur hosted this event and brought in facilitator Celes Davar of Earth Rythms, Inc. This was attended by 33 participants and was a great success in iniating a lot of enthusiasm and new possibilities.

On Tuesday, three workshops were held for 11 different individuals attending each one. These were an introduction to forestry with the Department of Natural Resources, Seaglass Jewellry Making with the Queen of Sea Glass, Sonia Turner and Black Magic Painting, focusing on our very own Maritime Ringlette Butterfly, with myself at the gallery. All three events were very successful. This will hopefully generate into real experiences for participants during the summer months where we will offer short workshops for visitors and locals alike! Stay tuned as I am now in the planning stages for these upcoming events!

  1. Great to see this post. Thank you for sharing your experience Adrienne. The photo is fantastic. It looks like everyone is incredibly proud of their paintings. Good luck with creating new experiences and new "art adventures" for people visiting Bathurst and area.

  2. Adrienne this was such a great workshop. I have been showing (ok bragging) to everyone about my little butterfly (and everyone immediately identified it as a butterfly - a clear testament to your abilities as a teacher!). Thank you,
